Lone Pine Hotel is committed to providing its guests and associates with a smoke-free environment. The policy has been implemented since April 1st, 2018. This smoke-free hotel policy has received support from guests, and Lone Pine Hotel remains committed to continuously achieve a smoke-free environment for the optimal comfort of our non-smoking guests.
1. What is Lone Pine Hotel’s Smoke-Free Environment initiative?
It is a policy incorporated on April 1st, 2018 and this initiative includes guest rooms, public areas, and associates’ work areas.
2. Why did Lone Pine Hotel implement the Smoke-Free Hotel policy?
Majority of our guests commented that they would be more comfortable in a non-smoking hotel environment. The only way to provide this experience would be to not allow smoking within the building. Therefore, we have applied this preference throughout our property. We do provide designated smoking areas outside the building to accommodate the needs of guests who smoke.
3. How will smokers be accommodated? Will they be able to smoke on the property?
Although smoking is not permitted within hotel buildings and in most public areas around the building, smoking guests are permitted to do so outside in designated areas.
4. What measures will Lone Pine Hotel take to enforce the Smoke-Free Hotel policy?
We have trained our associates on ways to respond to potential violations of the policy. For example, housekeepers are trained to observe signs of smoking in the hotel. Guests are reminded upon arrival at the hotel that smoking is not permitted inside the building. Booking confirmation e-mail also include a reference to the policy. They are also required to sign on the registration form that they understand the penalty should they be found smoking in the room. There is a room recovery fee of RM500.00nett for guests who do not comply in order to cover the substantial cost of restoring guest rooms to a smoke-free condition.
